Summary of Webquest lesson plan
The purpose of this webquest is to help student understand the basics of writing a persuasive essay. They are able to come to their own conclusion so to what they think by using the links in the resources tab. The resources tab has a variety of different links that will take them to different ideas and options for designing their investigation. This webquest is also used to help the students understand that their ideas are not wrong as long as they have evidence. This webquest also shows them the differences between fact and opinion by showing that in order to get other people to believe in your idea you must have clear proof in order to hook the reader into your idea or concept.
I created this lesson by first coming up with an idea that can lead to multiple answers. I wanted to show the students that there is always more than one way to solve a problem and sometimes there are different answers. Therefore, the multiple theories people have established about the dinosaurs extinction I was able to form this lesson plan by researching the internet for different reliable sites that showcased the different theories and the scientists explanation behind each theory. To help the students along in the webquest I designed a worksheet to help them write down ideas that they find along the way so they do not forget what they are reading. Then, the worksheet will be able to help the students ultimately write their persuasive essays by helping them pick the theory that has the most evidence and using the worksheet with the evidence they wrote down to help them develop a strong detailed essay.
